We love sharing information – sometimes it’s small tidbits and other times its big juicy chunks of info, and every now and again it might be something as simple as a meme to make your smile. We hope you enjoy our blog – which is mostly dog focused but can occasionally be distracted (Travel Tuesday is a lovely distraction but also a great way to get new holiday ideas).

Five fun things to do
  1. Visit the historic Waterwheel and local information centre!  The Waterwheel is home to a handmade craft shop, a hub for local wine, historic murals, an Art Gallery and an “eco indoor Forest”.
  2. Discover the hidden “Redwood Forest” which is home to over one-and-a-half thousand redwood trees, up to 50 metres tall. Walking through the plantation also leads to a scenic river with multiple walking tracks. *Please note that dogs cannot be taken into the Redwood Forest*.
  3. Visit Mt. Donna Buang with the family! Mt. Donna Buang is the closest mountain to Melbourne for snow-play and forest-play. There is no-cost to visit the mountain but be sure to bring a toboggan if visiting during snow season.
  4. Walk through the “Rainforest Gallery”, an easy-access 350 metres elevated walkway that takes you into the tree canopies.
  5. Peruse the stores along the main street of Warburton, followed by a stroll along the scenic town river. Warburton is full of stores showcasing artisan handmade goods, antiques, and much more. One of the best ways to see this beautiful area is by spending a morning or afternoon simply walking around with a sense of curiosity!

Every year, the nearby suburb of Silvan hosts the Tesselaar Tulip Festival, which showcases over 500,000 tulips in 100 different varieties. Full of music, food, dancing and market stalls, this is an event the whole family can enjoy. Dogs on-lead are welcome.
